Sarayaku 06:50
Sarayaku by Camelia Jade one night grows a spark caching light from your eyes burning through the greatest lies the world has known let it grow as we learn to live as we soften our steps tell me, have you had enough of this yet? I bow my head to the Earth, she’s asking us what life is worth brittle leaves covered your heart they leave slow like little leaves, open your heart can we let go? with the thirst of thunder rolling over our bodies it’s getting harder to deceive us with the names of conquered valleys rising in the mountains to dream we are letting go of the lie that says the truth isn’t worth your time may your heart grow lush and wild with the pulse of the earth tell me, what is it worth?

Red Hill Town by Mike Antone red hill town, sun going down children are sleeping mining bound, jobs to be found work for your living. if you could stack all of your thoughts as strong as Mayan walls at the top of the temple you would sacrifice time to love sacrifice time to love red hill town, sun going down people are sleeping flying bird around your town work for your living if you could stack all of your thoughts as strong as Mayan walls at the top of the temple you would sacrifice time to love sacrifice time to love

The Memory of Water by Camelia Jade deep within a memory water drew the names, knowing not, North or South reading the touch of canyon walls speaking from the river’s mouth the world turns its face as we overturn the earth another place collapses beneath our weight there’s money to be made from the heart of someone else’s land most would never leave their homes if they could just push back our heavy hands the price of our dreams topped with barbed wire I sing to the names (lost) in the sand … I carry you across I carry you with me Coconino, Tarahumari. Oh how they fear the ones who are truly free rising like water over snakes and spines over the open sky the place that you were born, do you still speak the names? Cohonino, Tarahumara ... would you hold your tongue beneath a thunder cloud and pray for all of the lines that we carefully paint to be washed away?

Bloom 06:26
Bloom a dream will grow heavy unless you move I hear a song from the edge of the sky each day, each breath, calls for you will you sing aloud, love to cool the ground? and with each breath can we change? pure and cool as the wind that calls for you how suddenly the spirit moves grown in heat and earth will you dream aloud to cool the ground? and with each breath grown deeper than you would you are a dream of the ocean to a body of water you are a sea of flames.

Love Bird 05:21
Lovebird by Mike Antone You travel light, below the moon on a Stellar's Jay, you pray to the plume in a Flicker’s heart, the lovers dance for the feathers guard the sacred trance You travel light, with lots of soul like an Eagle’s flight upon the road So hold on tight and buckle up for an Owl’s dream might wake you up A Raven sings of magic things Of the autumn wind and the love that it brings A Raven speaks of magic things Of the autumn wind and the love that it brings

about

Musicians on this album:

Camelia Jade - a multi-instrumentalist of Chilean-American descent drawing from both modern and ancestral influences, composing on guitar, charango, voice and percussion.

Mike Antone - a songwriter born and raised in the Snoqualmie valley of Washington state whose influences stem from the Pacific Northwest timber and railroad music and are as far reaching as his grandfather’s stories and melodies resonating from the Black Sea.

Gabe Herbert - heard on fretless 5-string electric bass, is influenced by the deep sounds of “dub” style reggae, electronica, sonic meditation and more. He has been performing as a bassist with Camelia Jade since 2006, when they formed the group, “Satellite by Night.”

Samantha Hiatt - a highly versatile musician and featured vocalist on the songs “Love Bird” and “El Cóndor Pasa (If I Could),” as well as harmonies throughout this album. Samantha performs in many groups ranging from Soul to Rock, Jazz, Theatre and more.

Dawn Reardon - percussionist, writer and Naturopathic Doctor. Her contributions of complex rhythms on frame drum create a distinct sonic style, complimenting the genre-blending fusion of this group.
